Para eso tenes que usar la funcion nl2br()

  echo nl2br($_POST['variable']);  
   

Aunque tambien te convendria por seguridad hacer lo siguiente, para evitar XSS.

  echo nl2br(htmlspecialchars($_POST['variable']));
