Problema con Google maps

Esta solución salió del soporte del mismo google (bueno, su blog):

Hi everybody

No veo bien los acentos en Safari desde el OSX ni en IE en windows en
los carteles (satélite-híbrido) y tengo bien puesto el código hl=es.
En Firefox se ve perfectamente en OSX y XP. El caso es que otras
páginas si las veo bien.

MSIE seems to insist that you also add charset="utf-8" to the line that loads the API code: <script src="...maps?file=api&v=2&hl=es&key=ABQIAAAA PD25FH2gCrvBNhqQdAkfVhT6FEzy43WPwvuUpYBN2d6tJQPQqR SSNZqtrYM7Conu3AXPxuFu HuRKCg" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script> Firefox seems to assume that scripts will use the same character set as the rest of the page, but MSIE doesn't. I've not tried it with Safari.
