Gracias por responder all-ill,

te cuento en cuanto a tus preguntas:

1) tengo el windows XP SP3

2) Otras opción (encontrada en Internet):

  • Inicio > Ejecutar...
  • Escribir dxdiag
  • ENTER

No sound card was found. If one is expected, you should install a sound driver provided by the hardware manufacturer.

3) El Hardware ID es el siguiente:

PCI\VEN_1039&DEV_7012&SUBSYS_810D1043&REV_A0
PCI\VEN_1039&DEV_7012&SUBSYS_810D1043
PCI\VEN_1039&DEV_7012&CC_040100
PCI\VEN_1039&DEV_7012&CC_0401

4) http://www.techimo.com/forum/technic...-screen-2.html

So I added my own, using the subsys string found in device manager:
%*WDM_AC97AUD.DeviceDesc%=WDM_FOREST, pci\ven_8086&dev_24C5&subsys_4000107B

In device manager, updated driver, pointed at (extracted folder)SMAXWDM\W2K_XP, viola! New device, no BSOD. Then it proceeded to detect all the opther subcomponents.

Saludos y gracias
