| Habiais olvidado usar una DTD correcta :
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
o
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">
Con una DTD entera, IE funciona mejor y comprende margin-left:auto; y margin-right:auto;. Trabajar en modo quirks (sin DTD) es complicarse el trabajo :)
