decodificador para peliculas totem en ubuntu
 

Ubuntu no visualiza películas en formatos .mpeg, .avi, .wmv, ya que no tiene instalado el decodificador y codecs para totem.

Como instalarlos? que otro programa en ubuntu me permite visualizar videos?

Desinstalé el totem y gstreamer, y al intentar instalarlos de nuevo me informa lo siguiente :

totem-gstreamer:

El paquete totem-gstreamer no tiene una versión disponible, pero existe en la base de datos.
Esto generalmente significa que el paquete fue mencionado en una dependencia y nunca fue subido, ha sido declarado obsoleto o no está disponible en el contenido de sources.list

El contenido del sorces.list es :

Es Ubuntu 6.06. Si totem está obsoleto, que otro programa para visualizar videos se podría instalar ?

Hola, cuando utilicé totem para ver videos me sucedió igual, me preguntó si quería descargar e instalar Codecs para ver esos formatos, los instalé, y se miraron; Creo yo que Totem no está obsoleto, y nunca estará obsoleto, al menos eso creo; como alternativa que tal probar a utilizar Kaffeine?

Para el nuevo Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy he utilizado este comando para instalar algunos plugin y codec's :

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

¿Para visualizar videos? yo tengo VLC
