Problemas de validación

No se si esta es la parte del foro para esto, si no lo mueven y mis disculpas.

no me acepta dentro de un <li>, tampoco dentro de un <li>, tampoco dentro del <ul>

como demonios le pongo el estilo de texto entonces a mi texto? El problema es que esa parte esta organizada asi

asi que ocupo diferentes estilos en el texto interno, pero la validación me lo marca como no permitido, como le hago? donde consigo los equivalentes de código o algo parecido?

Sí te debe aceptar span dentro de un LI, pero es que tú no lo estás poniendo dentro del LI, sino fuera, pero dentro del UL:

Dentro de un UL no debe haber nada fuera de los LI, de manera que debería ser:
