No se puede instalar sql server 2008

hola que tal
tenia una instalacion de sql server 2008 por alguna razon se daño
me daba algun problema relacionado con la bd master

como solo tenia 1 base de datos quise evitar problemas y desinstale el sql
y lo quise volver a instalar
pero ahora no me deja
me da el siguiente error

alguein sabe que podria ser, el servicio de wmi si esta corriendo.

Si lees un poquito sobre los REQUERIMIENTOS de instalacion, te daras cuenta que la edicion ENTERPRISE, es para sistemas operativos de servidor (Windows)

Yo tengo exactamente el mismo problema, y es un servidor con Windows 2003 Server SP2, he ejecutado varias opciones sin resultado, si me pueden ayudar en este caso les estaría muy agradecido..!!!

Pues si nos dices que Edicion-Version y sobre que sistema operativo lo piensas instalar, tal vez podamos ayudarte, ademas de que debes revisar tu LOG

Podria ser que estas tratando de instalar una version de 32 bits en un servidor de 64, confirma........

Yo aquí no veo ningun error. ¿No será otro log?

¿En la lista de tus SERVICIOS, se ve el motor de SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER)?

No. Cuando trato de instalarlo me instala todo menos el motor de SQL.
Da el error "El compilador de MOF no se pudo conectar con el servidor WMI. Esto se puede deber a un error semántico como una incompatibilidad con el repositorio WMI o a un error real como que no se ha iniciado el servidor WMI" y falla.
WMI funciona pues es quien genera los gráficos del administrador de tareas "Funciones de red" por ejempo (si mal no recuerdo).
Estoy perdido del todo.
A ver si hoy desinstalo todos los residuas de la instalacion previa y pruebo "SQL Express 2008 x64 R2" y me da algún dato nuevo.

¿Que edicion de SQL Server estas instalando y sobre que SO?

El que estoy instalando es el sql server 2008 en windows xp me da un error en que un requisito no cumple no me deja instalar wmi error.
