Por cierto, al ejecutar gedit por terminal mira que error me ha tirado:

Me lo ha tirado sin estar Compiz Fusion en marcha, y los bordes han aparecido, como de costumbre al no estar compiz-fusion.
EDITO
Hace un par de días decidí instalar Ubuntu 7.04. Lo logré poniéndolo a 1280x1024 - 32bits antes de iniciar el live-cd (F4).
Instalé Ubuntu, luego envy. Metí los drivers de nvidia con Envy y mediante unos pasos
que se pueden ver en mi blog,
Instalé las actualizaciones, y usando compiz --replace funciona bien, pero usando compiz --replace -c emerald, también funciona correctamente.
