Pues yo si puedo acceder a mi particion de windows formateada con NTFS, aunque nunca he tenido la necesidad de copiarme un archivo de ahi, supuse que era algo que venia por default aunque bien puede ser por que tengo actualizada mi version de kde a la 3.5.9 no me fije si antes de eso no podia acceder, de todos modos que no quede por probar... para hacerlo tienes que seguir los pasos que se citan
aca, que no es mas que meterte al adept manager y en el menua
Adept opcion ->Manage Repositories ir a la opcion de
Third Party Software y agregar (Add) el repositorio deb
http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-kde-3.5.9/ubuntu gutsy main despues le das Recargar y luego Full Upgrade y listo.

How to Use- Launch Adept Manager from K-Menu->System
- Choose from the menu Adept->Manage Repositories
- Click the Authentication tab
- Click the Third Party Software tab
- Add the deb line above
- Close and click Reload
- From the Adept toolbar click Full Upgrade then Apply Changes
- Log out of KDE and back in again once the new version is installed

En cuanto a lo de reproducir mp3 con el amarok no tuve ningun problema puesto que al intentar reproducirlo me indico que habia que descargarme codecs propietarios, le indique que si y no tuve ningun problema.
Una pregunta usas el konqueror para navegar? yo le instale ademas el firefox y no veo diferencias notables al navegar en uno o en otro
