hola a todos soy nuevo en esto y tengo un pequeño inconveniente con la instalacion del AppServ sugerida en esta pag:

(utilizo ubuntu 9.10)
todo iba muy bien hasta que llegue a esta linea:
sudo /usr/bin/mysqladmin -u root password tu_nuevo_password
aclaro que he colocado mi nuevo password, valga la aclaración jeje.. y
la terminal me bota este error:
/usr/bin/mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)'
he investigado y lo mas cercano que he encontrado es lo de esta pag:

pero mi archivo "config.inc.php" se encuentra es en otra ruta (carpeta etc) y tiene sus discrepancias con el mostrado en la pag, miren el mio:

y la verdad yo programo mucho en java y quiero también aprender esto agradezco al que me ayude con este problema.
tengo la duda sobre si este tema corresponde aca o a los foros de ubuntu..disculpen la ignorancia
