Imágenes en mayúscula y minúsculas

Buenos días

Estoy haciendo una web pero he estado teniendo problemas con las imagenes cuando una imagen es .GIF .PNG o .JPG se ve bien pero cuando es .gif .png o .jpg no se ve nada.... hay alguna forma de hacer que no distinga de mayúsculas y minúsculas??

He leído sobre el htaccess pero no se en que parte es que tengo que modificar, este es mi htaccess estoy usando Joomla para hacer la pagina:
