Pregunte al hosting sobre el problema y me contestaron esto:
This is normal when you are using PHP to handle the download, phpMyAdmin also has this issue and it is due to deficiency in the PHP framework itself.
Es decir, que la culpa es de PHP. ¿Existe alguna alternativa con el mismo resultado?
