Que le pasa a mi Impresora (apollo)

Se trata de una impresora APOLLO P1200, la cual he estado tratando de instalar en una pc con windows 2000 Profesional.
Al iniciar la instalación aparece esto:
SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\VirtualDeviceDriv ers.VDD. El formato del controlador de dispositivos virtuales en el registro no es valido.


Si entro en el registro en esta ruta encuentro:
VDD REG_MULTI_SZ C:\ARCHIV~1\Symantec\S32EVNT1.DLL

Si busco este controlador en la PC lo encuentro en:
C:\Windows 92system32
C:\archivos de programas\symantec.


Que es lo que está mal en todo esto?

Por ningún lado la impresora funciona, el puerto (paralelo) esta bien prue he provado otra impresora en el. Y la impresora en cuestión esta buena porque le he probado en otra PC.

Esta misma impresora estaba trabajando sin problema en esta PC y de un momento a otro “sas” dejo de funcionar.

Es posible que sea problema del Sistema Operativo? a ue se refiere este, que significa?

¿Seguro que esta utilizando el driver necesario?. He encontrado esta información en internet (vamos a ver si lo podemos traducir lo mejor posible).

Microsoft Windows 2000 Driver Support

No hay soporte de drivers para las impresoras APOLLO en sistemas equipados con Microsoft Windows 2000 . Microsoft recomienda Windows 98 como la mejor elección para usuarios normales y para los que les gusta jugar. Windows 2000 sólo es recomendable para utilizarse en una empresa. Quizás, si eres un usuario de Windows 2000 y quieres trabajar con tu impresora P-12xx ó P-22xx, podrias utilizar unos drivers de Hewlett-Packard que en teoria funcionan. El driver de la HP DeskJet 612C debería de trabajar con impresoras APOLLO P-22xx y el driver de la HP DeskJet 420C debería de funcionar para los modelos APOLLO P-12xx . Mientras estas soluciones funcionen, tanto APOLLO como Hewlett-Packard no ofreceran más soporte. Si tu eliges utilizar alguno de esos drivers, por favor entiende que no habra soporte técnico disponible desde APOLLO y Hewlett-Packard para los problemas que puedan surgir con la instalación o con el mal funcionamiento de esos drivers.

Intenta utilizar el driver de la hp 420c y seguramente no te surga ningun error como el que te da ahora.

Lo que mencionas a cerca de la impresaras apollo bajo Win2000 es cierto, lo se pues he utilizado Win2000 e impresaras apollo por mucho tiempo y siempre funcionan con el divers de ella, lo que pasa es que debes tener en cuenta que tipo de cartucho estas utilizando (color, Negro) porque bajo Win2000 no te detecta automaticamente el tipo de cartucho.

La impresora que menciono estaba trabajando normal y de un momento a otro...........
Lo que no entiendo muy bien es lo del mensaje que está sacando.

Ok, me despiste de la pregunta.
Por curiosidad, ¿qué programa de Symantec tienes instalado en tu ordenador?. >Haber si el problema va a estar en eso.

You need to remove SYMEVNT from your system and need to do so manually.

Solution:
CAUTION
SYMEVNT is a shared component used by several Symantec products. Removing SYMEVNT from your system will adversely affect some or all of your Symantec applications.

Manually removing SYMEVNT is a two-step procedure: removing the SYMEVNT files and deleting a registry key.

Removing the files

1. Using the Windows Explorer, navigate to the following folder: ..\Program Files\Symantec
2. Highlight and delete the following files:
S32evnt1.dll
Symevent.sys
Symevnt.386
Symevnt1.dll
3. Navigate to the following folder: ..\Windows\System
4. Highlight and delete the following files

S32evnt1.dll
Symevnt.386
Symevnt1.dll

Removing the registry key

1. Click Start, and choose Run. The Run window appears.
2. In the Open field, type regedit and then click OK. The Registry Editor appears.
3. Navigate to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\VxD\

4. Highlight the SYMEVNT key and then press Delete.
5. Close the Registry Editor.
6. Restart Windows.

Restoring SYMEVNT
