NVidia Quadro FX 500 y SuSE

Tengo instalado SuSE 9.0 en mi PC. La misma consta de una tarjeta de video NVidia Quadro FX 500. Me he bajado los drivers del sitio de NVidia que tiene por nombre esto NVidia-Linux-x86-1.0-6111-pkg1.run y he leido las instrucciones que ellos dan en un HOWTO de como instalarlo. Dice que haga esto

sh NVidia-Linux-x86-1.0-6111-pkg1.run -q

pero cuando hago esto no me hace nada. Lo quiero hacer pues estoy tratando de instalar la version beta de Looking Glass 3D y necesito varias cosas. Si alguien lo ha hecho antes que me de una mano porfa ... y si alguien ha instalado ya Looking Glass 3D que me ayude porque es algo complicado tambi'en y no logro instalarlo.

Ahí es donde debes cambiar id:5:initdefault: por id:3:initdefault:, y así podrás reiniciar sin arrancar el entorno gráfico. Más adelante no pone X11, pero sí XDM.

Ya lo he descargado y he realizado el proceso de instalacion y hasta aqui todo bien. Ahora a partir de aqui no encuentro nada de lo que dice en el tutorial. Este es el fichero de XF86Config

Esto se me habia olvidado decirlo. Estoy trabajando con el VMWare para Win32, es decir, estoy sobre una maquina virtual. Tiene esto algo que ver al respecto ???

Debiste leer la documentación acerca de la instalación en Suse9.0 (tal y como se indica en el tutorial), y verías que no hace falta modificar el archivo de configuración de las X a mano, sino que se hace de manera automática:

1) Kernel sources must be installed and configured. Usually this means
installing the 'kernel-source' package with YaST2. Update it - if not
already done - via YaST2 Online Update (YOU).

2) Use the nvidia installer for 1.0-6111.

sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6111-pkg1.run -q

3) Configure XFree86 with

sax2 -m 0=nvidia (0 is a digit, not a letter!)

Mira he hecho lo que me indicaste y me da este error:

sax2 -m 0=<name of module>

lo otr o que quiero hacer es configurar correctamente el HOSTNAME. Cuando inicio el Linux me da este error:

que debo hacer para que no me de este error ?

He actualizado mi SuSE Online y creo que ya tengo instalado el Driver para la NVidia, ahora como puedo comprobar que el mismo esta funcionando correctamente y cual es el proximo paso para instalar Looking Glass 3D ??

En el enlace que te puse al principio se comenta el modo de saber si tienes aceleración 3D:

Para saber si tenemos ya habilitada o si queremos comprovar si hemos habilitado la acceleración 3-D haremos lo siguiente (si disponemos de XFree86 4.x)

desde un terminal en modo root tecleamos:

# glxinfo | grep direct

En la salida estandard (respuesta q nos da la consola) tendriamos q leer
direct rendering: yes
eso significa q tenemosd activada la acceleración.

De lo contrario nos podriamos encontrar con una salida estandard similar a:
direct rendering: no
OpenGL render string: Mesa GLX
