Ejecutando "man fsck" encuentro esta opción que no has usado:
Cita: -C [ fd ]
Display completion/progress bars for those filesystem checkers (currently only for ext2 and ext3) which sup‐
port them. Fsck will manage the filesystem checkers so that only one of them will display a progress bar at
a time. GUI front-ends may specify a file descriptor fd, in which case the progress bar information will be
sent to that file descriptor.
Fíjate en que se trata de una letra C mayúscula, y tú has usado una minúscula. En cuanto al uso del parámetro "-y", tengo mis dudas de cuál es su uso. Creo que deberías usarlo con el comando
fsck.ext3 o
fsck.ext4, ya que dice funcionar con
some filesystem-specific checkers.
