Problema con el apache de WampServer 2.0

Hola a todos.
tengo un problema con Apache en Windows XP SP3. Wampserver funcionaba correctamente pero ahora ya no funciona. Se queda en naranja y cuando le doy a 'Put Online' dice:

Could not execute menu item (internal error) [Exception] Could not perform service action: No se ha iniciado el servicio.

Bueno leyendo supe que era el apache, pero al tratar de iniciarlo en el panel de Servicios de windows, dice:

El servicio Apache2.2 se inició en Equipo local y después se detuvo. Algunos servicios se detienen automáticamente si no tienen nada que hacer, por ejemplo, el servicio de Alertas y registros de rendimiento.

Si faltan detalles, por favor pregunten. No he logrado resolver este problema.
